Iran not obliged to respond to alleged studies

TEHRAN

Chairman of the Majlis Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that Iran is not obliged to respond to alleged studies. Speaking to IRNA, he said there is no doubt that the West has leveled a series of false accusations against the country\'s peaceful nuclear activities. Boroujerdi strongly refuted allegations made by the western countries that slow pace of centrifuges installation at Natanz nuclear site has political reasons. The latest report released by the IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei has verified peaceful nature of Iran\'s nuclear activities, he said, adding that since last November injection of UF6 gas to 3000 centrifuges has been successfully conducted. Tehran is determined to continue installation of centrifuges as per schedule, he underlined.
The IAEA with reliance on UNSC resolutions calls on Iran to halt its uranium enrichment underlined Boroujerdi. They should understand that issues between Iran and IAEA had already been resolved through Modality Plan proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said. Since Iran has replied to all questions pose by the IAEA under Modality Plan, it reserves the right to refuse to respond to alleged studies, he pointed out. The US is behind the alleged studies and tries to pass wrong information on Iran\'s peaceful nuclear activities, he said. Boroujerdi said in the latest report released by the IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei, it has been verified that Iran has not deviated from IAEA rules. The new report underlined that Iran has not suspended its uranium enrichment in defiance of previous UNSC resolutions to this effect, he said.
