Iran ready to supply gas to Europe

TEHRAN - Deputy Foreign Minister for European affairs Mehdi Safari here on Wednesday expressed Iran\'s readiness to supply gas to Bulgaria and Europe.
In a meeting with Bulgarian deputy foreign minister, Radion Popov, he referred to the history of bilateral relations and declared Iran\'s willingness to expand ties in all fields, IRNA reported.
Describing commercial exchanges between the two countries as low despite their potentials, Safari called for expanding the level of transactions.
They also discussed bilateral ties in all fields, especially in the areas of international economic cooperation.
Iran\'s policies vis-à-vis international developments including global economic crisis, Middle East developments, situations in Iraq and Afghanistan and its nuclear program were also discussed during the meeting.
Popov, for his part, expressed Bulgaria\'s readiness to expand ties with Iran and described the two countries\' cooperation in the energy sector as important.
Appreciating Iran\'s efforts in fighting drug smuggling, he declared his country\'s willingness to cooperate with it in the field.He stressed the need to forge interaction between the two countries and called for mutual support for each other\'s candidacy in international organizations.
